Trinch brings over 30 years of industry experience to oversee the expansion of eVAC Magnetics' state-of-the-art production in North America, which will manufacture neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) permanent magnets needed for a wide range of commercial and military applications.
Located in Sumter, S.C., eVAC’s first facility commenced operations earlier this year and will scale to full capacity in early 2026. The eVAC Magnetics facility creates about 300 jobs for South Carolinians in a range of manufacturing and management positions and aims to grow to a staff of around 1,000 in the coming years.
“I am honored to join VAC Group at such a critical juncture for American economic and national security,” Trinch said. “I look forward to working with our teams and supply-chain partners across the Western Hemisphere to build a sustainable and resilient rare-earth supply chain—one that strengthens American industry, supports critical national defense efforts, creates good, upwardly jobs, and demonstrates that our commitment to reshoring domestic capacity, reinforcing our industrial independence, and hardening our national security is real, not merely aspirational.”
Trinch joins eVAC from 6K Energy and has spent more than a decade in several management positions in key layers in the industry.
“We are thrilled to have Sam join our rapidly growing North American operations,” said Erik Eschen, CEO of VAC Group. “eVAC is a proud American company, and as we build the first NdFeB facility of its kind in North America, it is a perfect time for us to welcome a leader who will help ensure that eVAC is the tip of the spear in creating a true mine-to-magnet supply chain here in the Western Hemisphere.”
